What Are You Looking For? Sooo. . ., what are you looking for? Are you looking for an experience that will make you feel excited or satisfied? Are you looking for a new job? Are you looking for something new in your life to replace what you are bored with? Next question what do you expect to see? I guess that depends on what you are looking for or looking at. Consider these words from Isaiah 59:11-12: We look for justice, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far from us. For our transgressions are multiplied before You, and our sins testify against us; for our transgressions are with us, and as for our iniquities, we know them. It is so easy to see what is wrong with other people or (if we are willing to do so) with ourselves. But why would we want to only see what is wrong, negative, in need of fixing, or crooked about ourselves? Maybe because we are so used to seeing only what we want and didnt get. Its not hard to see our sins. Its hard to admit that we are sinful or that we do anything that can be called sin in this day and age. Sin is not a popular word anymore, not a reality that we like to deal with as we used to. However, evil is a reality that nobody can deny. Bad things happen to all of us. Jobs are lost, families are fearful, bills mount up, people become angry and upset, friends turn into enemies, and on it goes. Wrong? Its all going so wrong! So what does God see when He looks at the human situation of you and me? Hear again from Isaiah 59: Then the Lord saw it, and it displeased Him that there was no justice. He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor; Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; and His own righteousness, it sustained Him.
