Beginnings
School
has begun, Good Shepherd will shortly switch to our Fall
Spring worship schedule, Sunday School will begin on Sept.11,
Catechism & Crosstown Classes and meals will begin on Sept.7,
Little Lambs Preschool begins on Sept. 7. Get the picture? A lot of
beginnings will be happening very soon. A lot of planning
is going on behind the scenes by quite a few volunteers. This is only
what is happening at the church. Now add in all that you have going
on in your personal life. Do you feel like your life is too busy?
Then lets take a few minutes to get some relief from the stress
from the Word of the Lord.
-
(Prov
15:22) Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.
- It
really is wise to talk over our plans with some interested people
who can give us helpful comments.
-
(Prov
16:3) Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
- Committing
our plans to the Lord means we include Him & His will in all
that we set out to accomplish. If our plans dont follow His
will, then we need to change our plans. God promises success to us
when our lives do follow Jesus.
-
(Prov
16:9) In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines
his steps.
- I
think it is great to know that God has determined my steps.
This means He is actively guiding our decisions even when we
cant detect His work.
-
(Prov
19:21) Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's
purpose that prevails.
- Whats
great news here is that the Lords purpose always wins out. We
can trust that He
will do what is best in our lives. It is also true that we can live
against His will, but we cannot defeat Him. So we might as well live
with Jesus instead of against Him.

Christ,
